Prabhupada: Potential is wonderful, so why they are not attracted to live in the farm and be self-independent and chant Hare Krsna? That is our farm project. Our farm project is, they should be satisfied with simple living. That is nice living. If you get milk, if you get fruit, if you get grain and open air, it is very healthy life. Why they should not be attracted?
Yogesvara: It is still the beginning, and because it’s the beginning, it is a little difficult sometimes.
Prabhupada: That may be. But this should be our aim. We should not be attracted by the modern city life. Simplified life. Save time and utilize for advancing in Krsna consciousness. That is perfect life. Just like Vrndavan. Vrndavan life means agriculturist, cowherd boys, uneducated girls, cows and calves, and tree, fruits. This is Vrndavan. The center is Krsna.

Sunday, March 20 is the regular Sunday Feast, beginning at 11:30 AM.
Monday, March 21 is Amalaki Ekadasi (Break fast 06:02-10:06). Fasting from grains and beans.
Tuesday, March 22 is the Disappearance Day of Sri Madhavendra Puri, a great disciple of Madhvacarya who was the spiritual master of Advaita Acharya, Paramananda Puri and Isvara Puri, the guru of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu. Sri Madhavendra Puri discovered the beautiful Gopal Deity hidden on Govardhana Hill in Vrndavan, and installed Him in with great festivity. His extreme development of the mood of separation from Krsna was his greatest contribution to the science of devotional service.
Friday, March 25 is Gaura-Purnima, the Appearance Day of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Along with Janmastami, this is our most important Vaisnava Festival. One should fast until moonrise on this day, and then attend the temple services with one's entire family. There will be a grand celebration at the Temple beginning at 6:00 PM with Abhisheka, followed by arati and kirtan, a short class and a wonderful evening feast.
Saturday, March 26 is the Festival of Jagannath Mishra. "When Nilambara Cakravarti, Sacimata and Jagannatha Misra understood from the marks on the Lord’s lotus feet that child Nimai was not an ordinary child but an incarnation of Narayana, they decided that on that very same day, which was very auspicious, they should observe a festival for His name-giving ceremony. Giving a child a particular name is among the purificatory processes known as dasa-vidha-samskara, and on the day of such a ceremony one should observe a festival by worshiping Narayan and distributing prasadam, chiefly among the brahmanas." — Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi-lila, 14.18

We are seeking volunteers is various locations to host and manage Bhakti-vrksha Groups. These small, informal regular classes on devotional service are a very powerful method of spreading Krsna consciousness. Anyone from the Gulf Coast area, greater New Orleans area, Jackson, Mobile, or any of the many smaller communities is invited to take advantage of this transcendental opportunity. You will get all the inspiration, guidance and materials you need from our farm center. For more information see our Bhakti-vrksha web site.
Coincidentally with our Gaura-Purnima celebration, we are also sending out our Spring Adopt-a-Cow appeal. New Talavan is home to over 150 of Lord Krsna's cows, and we need your kind support to care for them properly. Pastures require fertilization and lime, equipment repairs are due, fences need mending and of course there are the annual Spring veterinary checkups. This year is also the first time you can choose to make a convenient online donation on our web site. Please look for the Adopt-a-Cow appeal in your mailbox, kindly make a generous donation and get the blessings of caring for Krsna's cows!
We are making a pilgrimage to all of the ISKCON centers in North America, and greatly appreciated your beautiful farm community. The spiritual presence of Sri-Sri Radha-Krsna and Srila Prabhupada is very strong, and we were so happy to spend a day with you on the farm. We are hoping to return when you hold the 30th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's visit to the farm next August! Hare Krsna, A.G. dasSchedule your family's visit to New Talavan today!
