Srila Prabhupada's Vision
Prabhupada: If we concentrate in farm project there will be no need of exchange, because I’ll be satisfied with my products. That’s all. There is no need of exchange. Whatever I need, I get in my farm.
Ramesvara: Weaving, cloth.
Prabhupada: Everything I get. So I haven’t got to go outside for exchange. If you are satisfied in your farm—I am satisfied—then where is question of exchange? There is no need of artificial… So this banking, “fanking,” everything will collapse automatically. There is no money, who is going to keep money in the bank?
Hari-sauri: Who needs it?
Prabhupada:  (laughs) So this artificial way of banking, that will be also collapsed.
Hari-sauri: This is revolutionary.
Ramesvara: It’s very hard for the mind to…
Prabhupada: No, simply do this.
Ramesvara: Such a dramatic transformation of society…
Prabhupada: Yes. Whatever it may be… We should be satisfied locally by our food, by our cloth, by our milk. That’s all. Let the whole world go to hell. We don’t care. If you want to save yourself also, you do this. Here is an example. If you want artificial life, city life, and hellish life, you do. But we shall live like this. This is the ideal life.

Vaisnava Festivals

Friday & Saturday, April 9-10 His Holiness Indradyumna Swami visits New Talavan. Please see program details below.   Saturday, April 10 we will be at the Living Health Celebration sponsored by the Mississippi State Board of Health, at Blue Cliff College, 942 Beach Drive in Gulfport, from 10 AM - 3 PM. Come and see our display with books and prasadam, and answer any questions you may have about mantra meditation.

Sunday, April 11 is the Sunday Feast at New Talavan beginning at 11:30 AM. See our website for directions.

Wednesday, April 13 is the Appearance Day of Sri Ramanujacarya, the great Vaisnava Acharya in the Sri-Sampradaya, the disciplic lineage descended from Laksmi-devi. Ramanujacarya established many big temples in South India, and authored the Sri-Bhasya commentary on Vedanta-sutra, which powerfully defeated Sankaracaya's impersonalist misinterpretation and presented visistadvaita-vada (qualified monism philosophy) establishing the personal worship of Lord Visnu as the Supreme.

Wednesday, April 13 is also the Beginning of Salagram and Tulasi Jala-Dana. There is a sloka in the Gautamiya-tantra that “Sri Krsna, who is very affectionate toward His devotees, sells Himself to a devotee who offers Him merely a Tulasi leaf and a palmful of water.” For one month, devotees take a vow to offer the Lord Tulasi leaves and water, along with nice prayers and other offerings.

Saturday, April 16 we will be at the Psychic Fair at My Higher Nature,  1111 Robinson Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS from 10 AM to 4 PM. Come and see our display with books and prasadam, and answer any questions you may have about mantra meditation.

Sunday, April 17 is Rama-navami, the Appearance Day of Lord Ramacandra. There will be a special celebration at our Sunday Feast beginning at 11:30 AM. See our website for directions. Lord Ramacandra, the son of Maharaja Dasaratha, is an incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Lord descended into this world in His full quadruple expansion as Lord Ramacandra, Laksmana, Bharata and Satrughna. Lord Ramacandra went with the sage Visvamitra and killed many demons. After breaking the strong bow known as Haradhanu, the Lord married Mother Sita. To obey the order of His father, He entered the forest with Laksmana and Sita. Ramacandra went to bring a golden deer to please Sitadevi, but Ravana took advantage of the Lord’s absence to kidnap her. When Sitadevi was kidnapped, Lord Ramacandra and Laksmana searched for her throughout the forest, met Jatayu and established a friendly relationship with Sugriva. After organizing the military strength of the monkeys, with the help of His faithful servant Hanuman the Lord bridged the ocean to Sri Lanka and attacked Ravana’s capital, killing him. The Lord delivered Sitadevi and carried her in a flower airplane to Ayodhya, where He was received by His brother Bharata. The great sage Vasistha Muni enthroned Him as King, and Lord Ramacandra established an ideal Vedic kingdom in Ayodhya.

Cow and Garden News
This week we had some irregular programming in the cow and garden department. We spoke with Adi Karta Prabhu of Alachua, Florida and asked if he wanted his cows back. Krsna Caitanya das has been caring for two of his cows for some years, and now that Adi Karta has a place in Alachua he is eager to have his cows again. Bhakta Kyle suggested that he could get his Jersey cow pregnant before delivering her to Alachua during Indradyumna Maharaja's visit. Adi Karta Prabhu thought it a good idea, so the arrangements were made. Dharma the bull was relocated to another pasture, separate from the other two bulls. Shyamala was relocated along with Krsna Caitanya's Yasoda and the cow breeding was under way.We ask all of our readers to pray that Krsna will bless these cows and their caretakers with healthy, Krsna-conscious calves.
Training of the oxen continues. Amar, the youngest in training, is familiar with all five voice commands. These commands are get-up (forward), whoa (stop), gee (right), haw (left), and back (reverse).  He is now ready to begin training in the yoke, but none his size are available, so the ox drivers hope to fashion a suitable yoke and bow so he can be initiated into pulling small loads. He is a friendly boy as you may be able to tell from the picture and we have big hopes for this little guy.
Srila Prabhupada very much wanted devotee cows to be utilized in the service of the Lord. The cow is our mother who nourishes us with milk, and the bull or ox is our father and he helps us with cultivation of the earth for the production of foodstuffs. Cows are part of our small family and they feel connected and appreciated when utilized in the service of Krsna  Please pray for the success of our cow program. Cow and ox protection ki-jaya!
