One of the more massive ongoing efforts at New Talavana is our hay production. We grow, cut, and bale thirty acres of hay that we use to feed our cows through the winter months. That’s a lot of hay!
Some of this hay is used in the garden department to mulch the crops.
Because of the high quality of our hay, local horse farms regularly come and purchase from us. This income greatly helps to fund the various needs of our cow program throughout the year. Indeed, the funds required for caring for cows for their entire lives are substantial. So, income from hay sales really helps!
