One of the more massive ongoing efforts at New Talavan is our hay production. We grow, cut, and bale thirty acres of hay that we use to feed our cows through the winter months, and we sell extra hay for funding the various needs of the cow program throughout the year. The man-hours and funds required are substantial. Our hay program involves maintaining the equipment, pitching and storing the hay bales, and then seeding and fertilizing the fields. We also have to pray for rain to make it grow, and then pray for no rain for a week so we can cut the hay, bale it, and pick it up.
